Global Metal Sources Co. Ltd. d.b.a Karten Metals, is a metal recycling and reproduction company located in Trenton, Ontario. We purchase and process scrap metals, aluminum, copper, wires and many more for lower costs for re-sale. We are committed to developing strong customer relations with trust, fairness, and efficiency, with clients all over the globe.

 

With the business expansion, we are now hiring an experienced professional Procurement Manager to purchase raw material, specialized metal processing equipment and facilities (eddy-current separator system, intermediate frequency furnace, conveyor belts and parts etc.) and hardware (steel or plastic totes and hoppers, steel bins etc.) to meet the continuing operation and recycling demands, and to perform the following duties:

  • Control and monitor daily activities of the purchasing department;

  • Responsible for proposing and implementing a detailed budget plan for purchasing activities, in accordance with the strict guidelines to avoid cost overruns and ensure competitive pricing;

  • Lead a professional team to develop and execute an effective and comprehensive procurement strategies;

  • Formulate and implement practice standards and procedures for purchasing activities to meet established budget goals;

  • Research, identify and evaluate quality suppliers and distributors; Establish and develop solid, reliable business relationships with those suppliers and distributors;

  • Negotiate terms including cost, insurance and timelines with suppliers and distributors;

  • Execute procurement and purchasing agreements with the assistance of the external legal counsel when required;

  • Conduct market and product research; evaluate and analyze all price proposals to determine best suppliers and distributors;

  • Provide insights in the development of specifications for equipment, material or hardware used for metal recycling;

  • Resolve disputes and issues with suppliers and distributors through communications, negotiations, complaints or legal action as instructed;

  • Train and supervise relevant staff members regarding procurement issues; recruit and train new staff if required.

 

We offer a competitive salary of $58/hour (40 working hours per week) with two weeks of paid vacation per year. The candidate will work at our head office located at 23 Subway Road, Trenton, Ontario K8V 5R7.

 

Requirements:

1. A university degree or above or equivalent experience is required;

2. At least three years of senior management experience in purchasing or supply chain or relevant senior management experience;  

3. Thorough knowledge and experience in purchasing procedures and negotiations strategies;

4. Relationship/networking with quality suppliers is preferred;

5. Passionate and dedicated in dealing with overseas suppliers and vendors;

6. Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Adobe and commonly used office software;

We purchase and process scrap metals from domestic and North American markets for re-sale. Customers for our recycled metals are primarily in China and other Asian countries.  We are committed to developing strong customer relations with trust, fairness, and efficiency, with clients all over the globe.

 

Currently, we are hiring an Executive Secretary to join our team. We offer a competitive salary of $31/hour (40 working hours per week), with two weeks of paid vacation each year. The candidate will work at our head office located at 23 Subway Road, Trenton, Ontario K8V 5R7.

 

Job Duties:

  • Manage personal and work calendars for President (i.e., booking, rescheduling, recurring events, etc.)

  • Support President in personal tasks and/or delegating to another team member as required

  • Draft, translate, edit and reply email and mail correspondences

  • Answer phone calls from customers, suppliers and various parties and take messages

  • Input information, notes and manuals using the centralized office information-keeping system

  • Order office supplies and keep track of the orders and usages

  • Greet visitors, guests and customers

  • Record and prepare minutes of President’s meetings

  • Prepare itinerary and make bookings for President’s business trips

  • Other administrative duties as required by President

  • May assist in communications with customers from overseas

 

Requirements:

  1. A college diploma or above or equivalent experience is required

  2. At least five years of experience working in an office environment

  3. Fluency in English and a second language. Mandarin is preferred

  4. Passionate, dedicated and willing to work in a multi-cultural environment

  5. Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Adobe
